Frequently asked questions
Do I need an account to join?
No. Open the direct room link, enter your name and, if required, the room password. An account lets you save your profile, add friends and manage Plus.
How do I share audio?
Click Share screen, choose a source and enable Share audio in the picker. Audio capture depends on the source and browser; browser tabs with audio work well in Chrome and Edge.
What quality does Free include?
Free lets you stream at up to 720p and 30 FPS. Plus unlocks higher options. Streams start at the highest quality allowed by your plan and the selected source.
What does Plus include?
Higher resolutions and up to 60 FPS, depending on your screen, connection and device. Prices, duration and terms appear in Subscriptions before purchase.
How many people can join?
Free rooms support up to 10 people. Check the actual limit displayed in your room.
How do promotional codes work?
In Subscriptions, enter the code and click Apply. A code can grant free days of Plus or apply a percentage discount at checkout. Check its displayed expiry and conditions.
Does Holdstream record streams?
Holdstream does not offer stream recording. Participants receive the screen and audio you share and may record independently. Administration shows room names and participant counts, without hidden access to screens or audio.
How do I send an idea or report a problem?
Use Suggest an improvement in the sidebar. Describe what happened and how you would like it to work. The message goes to Holdstream administration. Never send passwords or payment details.
